ENCR Course on Population Based Cancer Registries
January 19-23, 2000, Sofia, Bulgaria
After the organization of NACC in 1999, one of the aims of which is the promotional activity for establishing and development of cancer registry system in Georgia, NACC carried out activities for cooperation with International Association of Cancer Registries (IACR) and European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR).
As the result, 2 NACC members (Dr. Vasil Tkeshelashvili and Dr. Levan Bakanidze) received the fellowship from ENCR to attend the course on Population Based Cancer Registries held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 19-23 January 2000.
This cooperation was developed in terms of ENCR International Programs Coordinator - Dr. Risto Sankila's visit in Tbilisi according to NACC invitation in August 10-12, 2000. The aim of this visit was the cancer registry development needs assessment in Georgia >>>
The process of Cancer Registry creation is started according to ENCR recommendations, which lasts at the present times.
NACC long-term aim is the creation of Caucasian Network of Cancer Registries followed with its integration in ENCR. The realization of this project will be possible in case of finding the funding. >>>
