In locally extended lung cancer the expanded, combined, expanded and combined and broncoangioplastic operations are carried out. Methodological aspects of these operations have been worked out and improved. The special place has the thracheobronchial surgery in the work of this department.

Besides radical surgical interventios in breast cancer, reconstructive operations of breast are carried out in the department. In dependence on the form and extention of pathological process, chemoradiotherapy is widely used.

Radiotherapy is carried out in the department in cervical cancer.

Methods of diagnosis and treatment of esophageal, stomach, liver, pancreatoduodenal and retroperitoneal area tumors are introduced in the department.

Two-teams method in extirpation of rectum, is introduced in our department: operations with sphincter preservantion: abdominal resection with left and right parts of colon descensus into anal meatus, anteroinferior resection of rectum with compressive sutural apparatus - AKA-2; all types of radical operations on colon, among them subtotal colectomy with ascended and cecorectal anastomosis formation in total polyposis: reconstructive operations after radical ones in patients with colostomy.

Together with surgical treatment of skin and soft tissue tumors, wide scale radical operations are carried out in the department: intrascapulethoracical amputations, all types of exarticulations, skin transplantations, plastic operations on bones, breast cancer operations in males. new method of intra-postoperative chemo-immunocoaguloactive therapy in angiosarcomas has been worked out.

Known schemes of chemotherapy are used in cancer patients. The main trend of this department is to introduce new methods of treatment in malignant lymphomas.
Together with the combined radiotherapy and use of antitumor drugs, it became quite possible to obtain possitive effect in general forms of the disease and to improve the patients survival.

Multifractional and large fractional irradiation is used to improve effectiveness of radio treatment. Image obtaining on the paper by means of computing technics in roentgenodiagnosis may be considered as the success of the department. Besides that, model of roentgenodiagnostic apparatus has been invented, by means of which patients X-ray examination is harmless for the health. Method of computing thermodiagnosis was created which is used in mass-screeng of females.

Contemporary methods of treatment (combined, complex) are used in solid as wel as in malignant lymphomas.
Recently, tests on tumor markers by means of immunoenzymes analysis of blood are widely used.

Criosurgery is carried out in cancer and precancer diseases of skin and visible organs (in out patients).
